VOLUNTARY ADMISSION
Love for the Roots
The festival will commence with a new ensemble on the Czech scene which combines Jewish music with other traditions and forms.
Casual meeting of three artistic directors on the occasion of the festival's 30th anniversary, in the form of a debate and a short improvised performance.
The discussion will be hosted by journalist Jan Hocek.
Free Thoughts
On Wednesday, we will first welcome a fantastic Berlin-based ensemble led by an extraordinary saxophone player, presenting a soulful and imaginative fusion of emotion and expression. A newly established Czech band will follow with music combining avant-garde approaches with straightforward groovy and catchy melodies.
PHILM's performance is supported by Musikfonds.

Intimate Conversations
Thursday will belong to the format of a duo. First, two performers will bring the music of a region in Ukraine that was once a part of Poland. The second duo consists of the stars of the Norwegian contemporary scene and draws inspiration, besides other things, from 19th-century Scandinavian salon music.
Fresh Ideas
On Friday, we will introduce a legendary Czech double-bass player, followed by this year’s performance of the residency ensemble. Then, a Danish orchestra will present a furious combination of jazz tradition and its fresh young rendering. The day will end with the performance of authentic electric blues performers.
